In Columbus, we train on the Ohio State University campus in two locations.  Training is open to all members of the OSU community and to Columbus residents who are OSU member sponsors.  We welcome Doshinkan members to visit and train with us.  All members regardless of title or rank train together three times a week.

Doshinkan - The Way of the Heart

We train to develop and maintain our health, to mvoe with grace, poise, and confidence, and to develop physical, emotional, and spiritual strength.  We train individually and collaboratively to help each other develop and grow.

Karatedo is accessible to people of all ages, physical condition, and experience and uniquesly challenges each individual mentally and physically.

Our philosophical approach to training is that we train as a process of becoming - stronger, in better shape, in a more tranquil state of mind.  As such, we emphsize not a particular state but that we are on the way.

The way leads to better health, a life of mindful awareness, and deliberate and harmonous interactions with our fellow travelers.
